Proofreading
Proofreading is the final stage in the editing process that focuses on surface level errors. A keen eye is used to review the manuscript and suggestions are either noted in-doc or with a running sheet (as per author request).
Proofreading is best done after all edits have been made, right before publication. This may be done before advanced copies are sent out to readers (if sending ARCs), but can also be undertaken at the same time.
This stage involves a critical check for:
• Spelling
• Punctuation
• Typing errors
• Formatting
• Minor inconsistencies
Beta Reading
A beta read involves a thorough read through of your manuscript, focusing on plot, pacing, character development & inconsistencies. Thorough feedback and suggestions are provided, as well as open discussion time to converse on any plot points (as needed).
This stage is best done before copy/line edits.
Skillset
I have multiple degrees and have 8+ years experience in teaching reading and writing. I believe learning is a life long process and as such I am continuing to undertake further study in Proofreading and Copy/Line Editing. I utilise the Chicago Manual of Style to support my editing services.
I have experience in both beta reading and proofreading and strive to always support the author in staying true to their writing styles. I have a keen eye for detail and strive to provide a thorough service to the best of my ability.

Beta reading:
$0.0015AUD/ $0.0011USD per word
Repeat clients will receive a 5% discount. Manuscript services only.
